Caballito Negro
Caballito Negro is named from a line of the poem, Canción de Jinete (Song of the Rider) by Federico García Lorca, and one of the Madrigals, by composer George Crumb. "Little Black Horse" gallops in and around Oregon's new music scene, directed by flutist Tessa Brinckman and percussionist Terry Longshore. Assisted by brilliant guest artists, Caballito Negro presents contemporary music on the edge of many worlds, always in the spirit of duende.

Risonanti
Viola d'amore player and violist Victoria Gunn directs an exotic new baroque ensemble in Portland, Oregon, featuring some of the most sonorous instruments in Western music. The talented ensemble Risonanti performs on viola d'amore, traverso, gamba and lute, and will debut their lush, unique repertoire in 2012. The performers are Victoria Gunn (viola d'amore), Tessa Brinckman (traverso), Hideki Yamaya (lutes), and Joanna Blendulf (gamba/cello).
A flute, viola & piano trio....
An as-yet unnamed trio of acclaimed musicians, based in Los Angeles, presents its inaugural concert in March 2012. Flutist Tessa Brinckman, violist Kimberly Fitch, and pianist Danny Holt are excited about the richness of the repertoire for these instruments, which is fearlessly modern and pleasing to the widest of palettes.

Ensemble East West a.k.a. East West Continuo - (2003-2008)
Ensemble East West originally began as Tessa Brinckman & East West Continuo in 2003, and initially was only intended to be a recording project. However the group took off, and it was warmly received by Pacific Northwest audiences with its unique sound, often incorporating other artistic media to reach an enthusiastic and diverse audience.
Founded by Tessa Brinckman, the flexible highly talented and fun ensemble of flute, violin, viola, harp, and koto followed its mission to honor traditions and push the boundaries of both Western and non-Western classical music. Until 2008 they averaged eight concerts per year, and have commissioned nine new works, creating new repertoire for the less typical instrumental combinations. The ensemble made a critically acclaimed CD in 2005, Glass Sky - Chamber Music for Flute & Stringed Instruments (North Pacific Music LD021).
