Tessa Brinckman & Mitsuki Dazai come together for a third concert of this soulful, witty program of contemporary music for flutes and koto. Produced by Broadway Avenue House Concerts Gentle Numbers In Eternity blends text and music, connecting thematically to the poetry of a lively, diverse group of American poets.

Gentle Numbers In Eternity is a found title (harvested from the music titles in this program), which suggests the eternal, vast mystery within musical forms that are both highly structured and free.

The music incorporates, or is connected thematically to, the poetry of an exciting and diverse group of American poets. The music is by Jack Gabel, Ichiro Higo, Hiroshi Morikawa, Yugi Takahashi, Jim Franklin and John Neptune. The poetry is by Jack Gabel, Heid Erdrich, Nellie Wong, Emily Dickinson, Terrance Hayes & Carl Sandburg.

The audience is requested to bring a food or beverage item to share for pot luck intermission.

Broadway House Concerts is located in a 1920s bungalow-style home at the northwest corner of Adams and Broadway streets, diagonally across from Monroe Park in downtown Eugene. If you head west on 11th Ave., turn right at Monroe Street, travel 2 blocks to Broadway, then turn left and continue 1 block to Adams. Park along the street. There will be a sign to direct you to the entrance at the rear of the house.
