Just a few words from the depths of my Summer mode. Check out the beautiful robot family by DeVon Smith at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. Childless or catless? No worries. Make your own from garbage. And then register them to vote.

We loved visiting the AVAM – it’s a heartening place of deeply ritualistic dreamworlds by Outsider Artists (just like South Africa’s Helen Martins).

And then I found a Zadie Smith book at the Dollar Store amongst the Marianne Williamson biographies for $1.69! It’s a sign. And the cucumbers from our garden look like eggs, but we won’t be getting many more, because a squirrel slips over the fence to steal them at dawn. Manhattan is a wilderness.

May your summer not slink by you because you forgot to feed her! Go somewhere on the liminal edges.
